Faith's Nursery

Faith's due date is February 22nd. We've learned that February is a popular month to be born! I have been given the gift of an easy pregnancy so far and I don't take that for granted. I am so ready to meet her, yet I have so much we have so much we want to organize between now and then. Her nursery has been finished for a while now which was nice because we didn't know when Daniel's surgery would be scheduled. As with the boys room, we used mostly furniture and decorations we already had. My mom did so much to help me put everything together.

So Now We Give Him to The Lord

Dear Daniel,

Today we brought you before our church and I couldn't hold back the tears. They were tears of joy as I was awestruck by our God. We've prayed for you since before you were born. God gave you to us, and today we stood brought you before our family and church family. Your Daddy and I made a vow to disciple you. We will try every day to teach and model the Gospel of Jesus Christ to you even (or maybe especially) through our weaknesses. Our greatest desire for your life is that you know and walk with Jesus Christ intimately.

Many people have prayed for you since before you were born and you are still prayed over and are dearly loved.

New Hope gave us two letters on this day. One was addressed to your daddy and me and exhorted us to disciple you. The other letter was addressed to you and prays for the day that you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Printed on our Parent and Child Commitment Card:
"But you...belong to God; so run from all these evil things, and follow what is right and good. Pursue a godly life, along with faith, love perseverance, and gentleness." 1 Timothy 6:11

Certified Big Brothers :)

Last week while Lauren was visiting we had the opportunity to take the boys to a sibling class offered at Piedmont Fayette. I think this will always be one of my favorite pregnancy memories because as it turned out the boys loved it!

There were some impromptu changes that the instructor had to make which actually worked out much better for our two. Usually the class is offered in the waiting area outside of the maternity center, but because it was so crowded they held the class in one of the maternity hospital rooms. I thought this was so much better as it familiarized the boys with the hospital. Daniel is very well aquainted with hospitals and they are not usually a happy place. Let me tell you, he did so so well! These two are going to be awesome big brothers to their "Faiff."

Daniel of course was apprehensive and afraid at first. He knew where he was, but thankfully we had an awesome instructor and he took to her quickly. She handed the boys "their" babies. Joshua immediately took care of his and Daniel followed soon there after. Joshua said "Dis is Faiff."

He decided to give his baby a kiss and was very happy for the rest of the class.

Seeing these babies reminded me of all of the birthing and infant classes Nathan and I took with Joshua. I remember looking at those dolls and thinking "Please Lord tell me newborns are not going to be that big!" Talk about intimidating. ;)

The other great thing about our class was that it was so small. There were four children. Our instructor started with handing each child a baby. Then she talked about safety and helping mommy. They were able to swaddle and change their babies diaper. We were able to walk past the nursery at the hospital and see some real newborns.

The class ended with presenting each child a certificate, allowing them to pick out a gift to give their new baby, and handing them a snack.

Aunt Lala!!!!

My beautiful sister Lauren was able to come home from Hawaii for Christmas this year! And she came to visit us for a few days. The boys LOVE her. I have so enjoyed having her here and catching up! We all want to go see her so badly. Joshua wants to go to Hawaii. Now he tells me "Good night, and Aloha!"

Joshua told me while she was here, "I really like pwaying wiff your sister." She went to church with us Sunday. Monday, we took the boys to a sibling class at the hospital where I'll deliver Faith next month! Tuesday we went out just the two of us for one of my OB appointments and BBQ. We're going to miss her so badly!

On our way to church!

On our way to the sibling class, we stopped by Nathan's work and he did an ultrasound of Faith. Right now she's head down and looking great! We should meet her in a little over a month. :)

The Sibling Class: They graduated with certificates...another post coming about this adorable memory. :)

Okay, I know Joshua has his finger in his nose and I probably shouldn't post this, but it was actually such a sweet moment because Joshua wanted to sit by his "bwother" and shortly after they hugged very sweetly.

Eating lunch with Aunt Dot and Uncle Bob, Aunt Beth, and Aunt Jean in Concord! We had such a good time seeing family!

Lauren packing to head back to beautiful Hawaii. She left Georgia's 12 degree weather with a coat and boots and got off the plane with her flip flops! Aloha Lauren! We love you so much and am so proud to be your sister!
